Off-Day Story: Ailish Forfar and the new Ryerson Woman’s Hockey Team

The Ryerson woman’s hockey team is one of the many varsity sports that have become increasingly popular over the years due to their increasing performance on the ice. However after having such an amazing track record during their 2017-2018 season going 15-9 for their season, how will the 2018-2019 woman’s hockey team fair with losing some of their start veterans? Ailish Forfar, an ex- Ryerson woman’s hockey forward had graduated from the team as of last year and has now joined the team as an assistant coach to help some of the newbies and support her team. In an exclusive RSJ interview with Ailish she was asked about the new 2018-2019 team as well as what she will do as an assistant coach to push her fellow athletes to the next level. “One of the big thing’s I will try to teach the new coming kids as well as the players that are still here is just bringing passion every time you come onto the ice” was Ailish’s response to what she as a coach will strive for when it comes to the new team. Ailish has also put a of faith into the newcomers this season as she believes that they are the one’s the watch for any fan of the Ryerson woman’s hockey team and it seems the newcomers will have no problem fitting in. Although teamwork is the essence of hockey in terms of stats the Ryerson woman hockey team are planning to build off their success of last years season and put some faith into the newcomers that can potentially make a huge impact on the ice. The Ryerson woman’s hockey team has suffered the loss of some great graduating players, however with the help of Alish returning as an assistant coach as well as the rest of the staff at Ryerson the rams look forward to another exciting and successful season.
